I am an experienced instructor with English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching certification. A compassionate and patient individual who enjoys teaching, tutoring, learning new cultures, customs, and language.

Teaching/Training Experience:
-Taught at English For You in Nagano city, Japan.(A private language school with approximately 700 students.) Created lesson plans for children and adults of all ages and levels; cultivated neccessary skills in areas of efficiency, classroom managment, administration, and curriculum design in a strict and demanding environment. Developed teaching materials and techniques with the aide of highly experienced and educated peers in monthly teacher`s workshops.
-Completed a 240 hour TESL teacher certificate with a 40+ hour practicum. [See TESL program description at: www.pacificcoast.net/~panpacific]. Created lesson plans, syllabi, needs analysis. Taught beginners to advanced ESL classes in all skill areas, while observing peers and mentors.
-Involved in a homestay hostfamily in Kelowna, BC, Kasugai, and Tokyo. Tutored teenage students, parents, and taught Canadian culture and customs.
-Taught employees techniques and procedures for assembling Circuit Boards as well as ordering and prepping parts for a workstation.
-Trained employees to identify and document microscopic flaws on Fiber Optic cable as well as handling techniques and microscope functions.
-Trained employees on food preparation in a commercial kitchen as well as procedures, sanitation, and customer service techniques.
Related Experience:
-Trained in Chito-Ryu Karate for 10 years under a Sensei (teacher) and a variety of Sempai (assistant) with diverse styles and techniques. Instructed junior classmates, led group warm-ups and exercises.
-Volunteered at Victoria Compost Education Centre (1999) where I earned a Master Composter certificate. During the training I attended lectures, practiced techniques, and taught a lesson that I designed.
-Participated and Preformed in a jazz combo, stage band, concert band, ska band, surf band, and rock trio, playing guitar and bass guitar.
